Announcement of the IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter Thesis Awards

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce the list of recipients of the 2019 IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter Thesis Awards

The Chapter would like to congratulate the Award Winners for their excellent work.

The Best Thesis Awards are intended to support students involved in the areas of interest of the Antennas and Propagation, Electron Devices, and Microwave Theory and Techniques Societies, and their selection is based on the relevance of the thesis within the associated fields of interest, and on its creativity, innovative content, and quality. To be eligible for the 2019 Edition of the award, each applicant had to be (i) a Master’s or PhD student having discussed his/her thesis on one of the topic of interest of the Antennas and Propagation, Electron Devices, and Microwave Theory and Techniques Societies at an accredited institution of higher learning in Italy between 01/11/2019 and 31/10/2020, (ii) if competing for a doctoral award, to be a student member/member of the IEEE AP-S or IEEE ED-S or IEEE MTT-S at the time of application, and (iii) to have the endorsement of his advisor, who must be a university/college faculty member who is also a member of the IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter.

Moreover, the Chapter would like to thank the Award Evaluation Committee, composed by Prof. Vincenzo GALDI (Università del Sannio), Prof. Marco Donald MIGLIORE (Università di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale), and Prof. Luciano TARRICONE (Università del Salento), members of the IEEE MTT-S/AP-S Central-Southern Italy, for their invaluable contribution, and all the applicants for their participation and commitment.

MELECON2020 Announcement

Dear Colleagues,

IEEE MELECON 2020 – June 16-18, 2020, Palermo, Italy

is a major international forum presenting design methodologies, techniques and experimental results in emerging electro-technologies.
It is one of the flagship conferences of the IEEE Region 8 with participants from all over the world.
It is expected to bring together researchers and practitioners from different fields of Electrical Engineering.
The technical program will include plenary sessions, regular technical sessions, special sessions, poster sessions and tutorials.
Prospective authors are invited to submit their manuscripts reporting original work as well as proposals for special sessions in the following area: Smart Mobility, Industry 4.0, Smart Healthcare, Smart Grids.

7th SINANO Summer School

The Seventh European SINANO Summer School will  be held in Bertinoro (Forlì-Cesena,Italy) on October 16-21, 2016. The SINANO school is co-organized by the ARCES Research Center of the University of Bologna and by the Italian Inter-University Consortium for Nanoelectronics (IUNET).

Historically the school is devoted to various aspects of modeling and simulation + contributions from European projects and other EU initiatives.

The aim of the 2016 edition of the Summer School is to further enhance the knowledge of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in the field of modeling and reliability of electronic devices with special focus on emerging technology domains in Europe. To this purpose, the School will be organized jointly with the MIGAS School on Advanced Microelectronics-Grenoble and will also host five Workshops connected to the EC road-mapping project NEREID, focused on Nanoscale FETs, Smart Energy, Energy for Autonomous Systems, Smart Sensors, and Connectivity.

ICT Days

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce that it will be present with a dedicated stand at the ICT Days 2015.

The ICT Days, launched in 2009 as an initiative by the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Trento, are dedicated to the broad subject of Information and Communication Technology. The Placement is one of the most important events on the program. It is an arena dedicated to the encounter between companies and university students. For the former, it is an opportunity to find highly-trained human capital; for the latter, it is a chance for an internship or work experience placement.

Call for Nominations: 2015 EDS Student Fellowships

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce that applications for the 2015 PhD and Masters Student Fellowships of the IEEE Electron Devices Society are now open. These awards are presented annually to promote, recognize, and support graduate and masters level study and research within the EDS field of interest. For both Masters and PhD, it is expected that at least one fellowship will be awarded to a student in each of the following geographical regions: Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and Asia/Pacific.

INMMiC 2015 @ Taormina, Italy

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce the support for The International Workshop on Integrated Nonlinear Microwave and Millimetre-wave Circuits (INMMiC 2015) which will be held in Taormina, Italy, on October 1-2, 2015. The INMMiC is a forum for promoting, discussing and spreading ideas in the field of nonlinear microwave and millimetre-wave circuits and systems. INMMiC was originally launched in Duisburg, Germany, in 1990, and it achieved the present form in Rome, Italy, in 2004. .

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce that nominations for the IEEE Fellows Class of 2016 are now being accepted by IEEE. Nomination of a colleague, coworker, or friend whose career and body of work you consider eligible for elevation to the IEEE Fellow grade is strongly encouraged. The applications must be submitted online.
