ICT Days

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce that it will be present with a dedicated stand at the ICT Days 2015.

The ICT Days, launched in 2009 as an initiative by the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Trento, are dedicated to the broad subject of Information and Communication Technology. The Placement is one of the most important events on the program. It is an arena dedicated to the encounter between companies and university students. For the former, it is an opportunity to find highly-trained human capital; for the latter, it is a chance for an internship or work experience placement.

Short Course on “Adaptive Arrays Control: Theory and Techniques”

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce that Dr. P. Rocca (University of Trento) and Prof. R. L. Haupt (Colorado School of Mines, USA) will be the organizers of a Short Course on “Adaptive Arrays Control: Theory and Techniques” at the 2015 European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EUCAP 2015), which will be held at the Centro de Congressos de Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal, on 12-17 April, 2015.

Call for Nominations: 2015 EDS Student Fellowships

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce that applications for the 2015 PhD and Masters Student Fellowships of the IEEE Electron Devices Society are now open. These awards are presented annually to promote, recognize, and support graduate and masters level study and research within the EDS field of interest. For both Masters and PhD, it is expected that at least one fellowship will be awarded to a student in each of the following geographical regions: Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and Asia/Pacific.

Prize: US $2,000 (Master)/ US $5,000 (PhD)

IEEE AP-S Research Awards are open

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce that applications for the 2015-2016 Pre-Doctoral/PhD Fellowship Research Awards are now open. The IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) awards up to six $1000 pre-doctoral scholarships and up to ten $2500 PhD fellowships each year to encourage students to pursue a career in the area of Electromagnetics.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply after carefully reviewing the information at http://www.ieeeaps.org/pdfs/APResearchAwardAnnouncement_2015-16.pdf to ensure their eligibility and ability to comply with application requirements and deadlines.

Course on “Electromagnetic, acoustic, and thermal invisibility” at Roma Tre, Italy

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce that the preliminary program of the new School Event on the topic “Electromagnetic, acoustic, and thermal invisibility” to be held at “Roma Tre” University, Rome, Italy on 4-8 May 2015 is now available at this link.

The School, organized by Prof. Filiberto Bilotti, Prof. Andrea Alù, and Prof. Alessandro Toscano, is part of the Distributed School on Metamaterials run by EUPROMETA, the Education Department of the METAMORPHOSE VI AISBL. More information on registration, travel grants, visa applications, venue, and accommodation can be found at the event webpage.

INMMiC 2015 @ Taormina, Italy

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce the support for The International Workshop on Integrated Nonlinear Microwave and Millimetre-wave Circuits (INMMiC 2015) which will be held in Taormina, Italy, on October 1-2, 2015. The INMMiC is a forum for promoting, discussing and spreading ideas in the field of nonlinear microwave and millimetre-wave circuits and systems. INMMiC was originally launched in Duisburg, Germany, in 1990, and it achieved the present form in Rome, Italy, in 2004. .

2015 Raj Mittra Travel Grant are open

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce that applications for the 2015 Raj Mittra Travel Grant are now open. Two 2015 Raj Mittra Travel Grants exist to partially support travel by one young and one established doctoral scientist to attend the 2015 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and URSI CNC/USNC Joint Meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, July 19-25, 2015.

ED-S Mini-Colloquium @ Bologna

The IEEE AP/ED/MTT North Italy Chapter is pleased to announce that an IEEE ED-S Mini-Colloquium will be held in Bologna, Italy, on November 4, 2014.  The Bologna Mini-Colloquium is sponsored by the ED Italy Chapter, and it is organized at the University of Bologna, home of EDS Life Fellow Giorgio Baccarani, who will soon retire from the University.
